Beatless by Amber L. Johnson.

I've got a special book introduction post for you today. Just read this blurb and tell me you're not already hooked. :) Check out Beatless!- Ana

Synopsis
Mallory Durham has been left behind and it is making her feel less like an adult and more like an afterthought.

Divorce, sickness, educational aspirations being shattered, and her Aunt Sam moving into her home, have made Mal's life nearly unrecognizable to her.

When Tucker Scott re-enters her life along with his band, will they offer what she needs to once again find her voice and self confidence or will it strip her of it even more?

Told through the dual voices of Mallory as she navigates her new world, and Aunt Sam's letters to her niece, Beatless tells the story of two women at very different points in their life, fighting the same battles; proving that no matter what age a person is, there are always lessons to be learned.

My favorite moments at the winter games so far.

Writing Worth More Than Gold for the Love and Other Games anthology definitely made me think about the Olympic games in a whole new way and I have totally caught Olympic fever this year.

Here, in no particular order, are a few of my favorite Olympic moments so far:

Jeremy Abbott finishing his short program despite a horrible fall. Yeah, the falling was awful. He was hurt physically and undoubtedly heartbroken, but he got up and with extraordinary support and applause from the crowd he skated the rest of his program perfectly.

Noelle Pikus-Pace jumping off her sled and into the stands to hug her family and celebrate her medal winning run.  Back in 2005 her leg was shattered when she was hit by a bobsled, it's pretty much amazing she can walk but with a lot of support from her family she's Olympic champion. Awesome.

Snow boarder Gus Kenworthy deciding to bring home more than just a medal. He's adopting an entire litter of stray Sochi puppies and their mother. Seriously, check out these photos and prepare your collective "Awww!"

Watching Meryl Davis and Charlie White win gold! They are definitely the stars of these games for me. I'm utterly enchanted.

The Canadian ski coach who brought a Russian skier a new ski when his was broken so he could cross the finish line with dignity. Right?

And while we're discussing the awesome stuff Canadian's do. This is hilarious and made of cool. I know it's a promo gimmick, but it works and it makes people smile.

Seeing Yuzuru Hanyu skate his short program during the team figure skating competition. The kid is simply amazing.

And the dancing during the opening ceremonies:  Wow.

Elle Marlow's Valentine's Day Book Blitz.

~ Elle Marlow’s Valentine’s Day Book Blitz ~
Valentine’s Day has come and gone but you can rekindle the excitement by reading Elle Marlow’s two new releases.

The Gambler’s Passion and Pour Me are available now.

The Gambler's Passion Blurb:

Beautiful Arizona Summers is determined to fulfill her mother's dying wish and realize her dreams-even if it means dancing at Bare Backed Belles, cheating at high stakes poker or running from a spray of bullets with a man she's given her innocence to. She'd do it all and over again to find love and keep her promise.
Jace Forrester gets a thrill out of living a double life. Preacher's son by day, card hustler by night. Always after the big win, he can't resist Arizona's ultimate challenge. He may lose more than he bargain for-his heart.

Excerpt:
“The plan? The plan? Oh, pigeon, you went way beyond our plans! What was I supposed to do when you flashed your cleavage and those long legs of yours?” he asked incredulously, his eyes flashing. She gave him her best bored expression, then shrugged innocently. “We had a plan, and… you blew it.”
“I blew it?” She watched amused as he rubbed his chin and considered her words. “You know what? You’re right. I should completely ignore how amazingly beautiful you are and stick to our plans. I won’t make that mistake again, Pigeon!  Thanks for reminding me of my place!” He was peering down at her trying to judge her reaction. She tried to keep a poker face. Was that disappointment? She sure as hell hoped so. “I don’t think you can do it,” she teased. “You don’t?” “Nope. You’re a man. Men have needs. I can play you like a cheap fiddle if I wanted.”
“You know, I don’t think your mother would approve of this new you.”

Pour Me Blurb:
Wanted: One Cowgirl Mommy
That was the ad right next to the bartending one. Carly wasn't sure she was prepared for either, but she was heading back to Arizona regardless. Running from her past and hopefully to a brighter future, Carly couldn't predict that all three would collide and force her to face her demons. And sexy cowboy, Cade McCormick would be to blame for all of it.
Cade had to be careful about the women involved in little Danni's life. A cowgirl was on the bottom of his list! But time has a way of changing hearts and minds roping the past together. Is his new bartender really the woman he thought he lost years ago? Did little Danni really place an ad to find her?
Excerpt:
Cade moaned and tightened his grip on her. She melted into him, savoring the passion unlike anything she had ever experienced in her past. Her body was on fire and just burned hotter as the minutes passed. When Cade pulled away, she almost fell into him.
His hands gripped her and steadied her on her feet, as he looked down on her with a heavy expression.
“I guess I overstepped the lines again. I keep losing my mind around you, Carly Stevens.

A Piece of Cake by T. M. Franklin.

A Piece of Cake

A Piece of Cake - a sweet romance by T.M. Franklin

"I loved this - and there's cake! What more could you want? :)" - Andrea on Goodreads

Formerly published in the Romantic Interludes anthology. A Piece of Cake is now available for the first time as a stand-alone short story.

SUMMARY

Emily Valentine is a matchmaker who doesn’t believe in love.

Well, at least not the hearts and flowers, see-your-soulmate-across-a-crowded-room-and-the-world-stands-still kind of love. No, Emily is a pragmatist – a scientist – and she’s abandoned her family’s tradition of matchmaking based on instinct and uncanny intuition for a more scientific approach to pairing people up.

Emily believes love is more about compatibility and common interests than anything mystical.

But a run-of-the-mill job turns her world on end when swoony cake designer Sam Cavanaugh pops up as a potential match for her newest client. The attraction she feels for him throws a wrench in her plans, but she’s not going to succumb without a fight.

Emily is nothing if not practical. And reasonable. But she’s about to learn that sometimes the best things in life…are neither.

A Piece of Cake is Now Available for $.99 on AMAZON or TWCS!!

Love is All You Need. A Giant Valentine's Day Giveaway.

Valentine's Day: it's easy to be a cynic. Valentine's Day was created by the greeting card and chocolate industries. And I certainly don't think that Valentine's Day provides an excuse to be lazy about your relationships for the rest of the year, but I do think it's nice that once a year we have a day especially set aside to celebrate all the ways love alters us and our lives. I think it's meant to remind us that we should be prizing those relationships all year.

Now I'm not saying that Valentine's Day needs to be a massive commercial venture. Homemade cards and small but thoughtful gestures can be be the best. So maybe sneak a special treat into your significant other's lunch bag, make them a mix "tape" or get up early and warm the car up before they get in it.Or go all out with rose petals on the bed and a reservation at a nice restaurant. Though, you may want to get on that if you haven't yet. The point is, that big heart on the calender isn't meant to tell you to purchase the requisite flowers and chocolates, it's meant to remind you to take a moment to appreciate your love.* How you do so is entirely up to you.

And please, love is love, feel free to celebrate your friend love or the love you have for your nephew, your mom, your neighbor or your cat. Probably best to avoid celebrating your love for your neighbor's cat. That might get weird.

I wanted to celebrate the love I have for my readers. When I checked around, I found a bunch of other writers did too. So I set up a giveaway. :) Two lucky readers are going to get a bunch of books.

* This statement is in no way meant to suggest that flowers or chocolates are anything less than lovely, just that if purchased they should be purchased thoughtfully.

So, would you be my Valentine?

You can add Almost Married to your to-read list on Goodreads

About the Author:
Roe Valentine was born into the right family. Not only does the name Valentine suit her, but her grandmother, unknowingly, introduced the young Ms. Valentine to her first romance novel. She hasn’t read anything else since. She calls herself a romantic at heart and believes that love conquerors all.

The San Antonio native, who now lives in Houston, attempted to write her first contemporary romance novel when she was nineteen years old. That attempt didn’t take, but her story has a happy ending. She kept pursuing the dream until she landed her first publishing contract. Almost Married is her debut novel.

When not busy writing or reading love stories, Roe can often be found in a yoga class or chatting with friends at her favorite coffee shop. Enjoying margaritas with some girl-talk isn’t unusual for her either. For a night in, she watches reruns of her favorite TV shows and, of course, romantic comedies on her Roku, usually with a glass of wine.

Roe Valentine also LOVES talking to readers. You can contact her in the following ways:

Almost Married
© Roe Valentine 2014

“You shouldn’t be here.”

Jacob shut his eyes. “According to?”

 Silence.

The door pulled open, and there she stood. But that time, she wasn’t so smoothed down. In fact, she was barefoot and her long hair was tied in a bun on the top of her head. Her gray dress was wrinkled as if she’d been rolling around in the bed. His heart pounded. Beautiful didn’t begin to describe her.

“Your lawyer.” Her eyes lifted to meet his. Had she been crying?

“He doesn’t tell me where to be.”

She gazed passed his body, eyebrows slanted. “You should go.”

He didn’t step closer, though he desperately wanted to. Taking her in his arms was all he could think about. Especially if she was crying because of him. “What if I don’t want to?”

As her lips parted, he could see her deep sigh. She was tormented, and it was enough to make him steadfast in being there, while before he wasn’t sure why he ended up knocking on her door. Something had happened between them at his house, on the patio. He was more certain than ever.

She stepped aside, the hotel room coming in full view.

Stomach fluttering, he walked into the room. First thing he smelled was her vanilla perfume. The bed was unmade, pillows thrown. Clothes thrown over the wingback chair near the window. Shoes lined up near the dresser, though the flat ones she wore earlier were near the side table. He took it all in, remembering her hotel room from many years ago.

“I don’t know what else we can talk about, Jacob.”

He turned to her. The door shut with a loud snap. “Do we have to talk?”

Her eyes widened. “What else would we do?”

 I have an idea.
